🎓 Nzimande’s announcements on NSFAS a band-aid on a self-inflicted crisis
The interventions announced by Minister Blade Nzimande, regarding NSFAS higher funding today is simply a knee-jerk reaction by government to the recent student protests across the country. The DA will soon make public a plan to turn NSFAS around and to ensure that poor students have access to education.

🚓 DA calls for debate of national importance on SAPS DNA chaos
The DA will write to the Speaker of the National Assembly, to request a debate of national importance regarding the increasing DNA backlog which now sits at 172 000. Delayed DNA outcomes is justice denied to rape and murder victims.

💰 Democratic Alliance to refer Housing Tender to the Hawks
The controversial Housing Development Agency (HDA), which last year recorded more than R131m in irregular expenditure was appointed as project implementor for the failed multi-million-rand Covid-19 emergency de-densification programme in Duncan Village informal settlement in the Eastern Cape. The DA is now taking referring the matter for investigation.
