Special vote applications opened last week Friday but with the announcement by the ConCourt later that day, the special vote application portal has subsequently closed and is not accepting any applications. Those who applied online for a special vote will likely have to reapply when the application period opens again. We have confirmation today that the application period will open again from 20 September to 04 October.
The IEC’s special vote application process is now open. I can confirm that the portal is working and successfully processing special votes.
There are two ways one can apply for a special vote:
- Visit and complete the special vote online application form – https://www.elections.org.za/pw/OnlineForms/Special-Vote-Online-Application
- Download the special vote application form – https://bit.ly/special-vote-form – and send the completed document to jarad@frimmel.co.za or 065-810-4472. Your application will be processed once received.
Important: When using the online application form, make sure you download your receipt. Please send this receipt to jarad@frimmel.co.za or 065-810-4472 so that Ground War can monitor the number of special votes submitted.
