The DA in Tshwane calls on the Gauteng Health MEC Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi to honour an existing agreement to extend the city’s emergency services temporary operating licences and issue a new license to allow it to operate its ambulances and ensure a smooth transition and not have a complete stop in ambulance services.
While the MEC is reneging on her commitment to issue the city with a licence, thousands of residents are on the receiving end.
The provincialisation of ambulance services by the ANC-led provincial government has failed dismally and is being poorly handled.
At this stage, the city cannot continue the service without a licence due to the legal liability of operating without a valid licence.
We call on residents to add their voices by signing our petition, which we will use to demand that the renewal of ambulance licences in Tshwane.
