DA-leader John Steenhuisen conducted a fact-finding mission to Stellenbosch University today after reports that students were banned from speaking Afrikaans at their residences and certain public spaces on campus.
The DA will now lodge a complaint with the South African Human Rights Commission and the Commission for the Promotion and Protection of the Rights of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities to investigate this apparent violation of language rights.
