For more than 25 years the state of our schools and that of basic education have deteriorated rapidly – proving once again that the ANC literally destroys everything that it touches.
In the light of this, it was shocking to hear the proposed solution by the ANC’s Social Transformation Committee Chair, Minister Lindiwe Sisulu, to introduce a so-called “50/50” racial model in schools.

The agreement, of which the DA is part, is the culmination of almost four months of negotiations to form a new government in the metro. Extensive time was spent discussing a shared set of values, principles, commitments, objectives, and priorities that will inform the governance blueprint of the new coalition.
There is no denying the terrible state of the metro and the urgent need for a change in government to improve basic service delivery for the residents.

The discussion documents published by the ANC ahead of its policy conference reveals that the party is terrified of the DA’s ongoing court action to abolish the unconstitutional and unlawful practice of cadre deployment.
In the documents, the ANC desperately proposes that “Consideration should be given to introducing more objective, meritorious and fact-based criteria into the processes of the deployment committee, so that its positions are publicly defensible, including in court if challenged.”

🏘️ Dignified housing for all
The DA-run City of Cape Town has now released the Salt River Market precinct and a second site at Pickwick Road for the construction of more than 800 housing opportunities.
The City currently has over 6 500 social housing units in the pipeline, where the Land Release Programme is gaining momentum.
